In TV2's popular show, A Nagy Duettben, András Hajós made sure that the judging was never boring week after week. His sarcastic, biting remarks divided not only the contestants but also the viewers, especially when he interspersed his commentary with political asides.
At its meeting this week, the NMHH Media Council sanctioned the government-affiliated commercial TV station and its manager for several violations, and also initiated proceedings against Metropol's publisher, Mediaworks, as well as ATV Zrt. and the state-owned Duna Media Service, which operates the M1 and M5 channels.
The Media Council condemned TV2 for incorrectly determining the age rating of the Hunyadi series and the program A nagy duet. Proceedings have been opened against Mediaworks, investigating whether the company violated the regulations on the protection of minors with one of the Metropol content.
The government-affiliated TV station was also fined for improper broadcasting of the prestigious series, which is so dear to the government and costs tens of billions, and for The Great Duet.
