The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s latest "Education at a Glance 2025" report states that while Germany performs well in vocational education, youth employment, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects, social background has a disproportionate impact on educational opportunities. While the number of university students is increasing, the number who receive a degree is limited.


The OECD annual report shows that more young people are getting a higher degree, while others are increasingly lacking basic skills. Germany still has a lot to catch up with. An overview.
