The Barreau du Québec is in favour of improving the process on the appointment process for the judges of the Court of Appeal and the Superior Court

The Minister of Justice and Minister responsible for Canadian Relations, Simon Jolin-Barrette, recently announced his intention to table a motion in the National Assembly to begin constitutional negotiations with Ottawa to allow the Government of Quebec to recommend, among the members of the Barreau du Québec, those who may be appointed as a judge of the Court of Appeal or of the Superior Court of Quebec.
