Telegraph's owner says data breach affected subscribers

The owner of the North Platte Telegraph and dozens of other newspapers said the personal information of 40,000 people, including subscribers, advertisers and employees, was affected in a cybersecurity attack that disrupted its systems earlier this year.

The Texas Department of Transportation is reaching out to residents whose personal information may have been compromised by a data breach. Officials say the breach led to the improper download of thousands of crash reports. The reports contained full names, mailing addresses and driver license numbers, among other things.
