SWEIDA, SYRIA, JUL 20 – Syrian Interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa called on Bedouin tribes to honor the ceasefire after clashes with Druze militias caused over 900 deaths and displaced 87,000 people, officials said.
- Saturday saw the Syrian presidency call for all parties in Sweida to respect the ceasefire and end hostilities.
- Amid rising violence, sectarian clashes escalated in Sweida with machine gun fire and mortar shelling, while the Syrian government struggled to uphold the ceasefire.
- At least 940 people have been killed since last week, while Mansour Namour reported 22 wounded on Saturday afternoon.
- Conducting airstrikes, Israel targeted the Defence Ministry in Damascus this week.
- A humanitarian crisis has deepened as over 87,000 were displaced in Sweida province, and residents sheltered without electricity, water or adequate food.

The clashes continue in the Druze region of Syria, towards which jihadists are now converging to fight alongside the Bedouin militias. There are reports of numerous executions of civilians and kidnappings of Druze women.
The latest tally from last Sunday includes 336 Druze fighters and 298 Druze civilians, of whom 194 were "summarily executed"
