Survey Records 1,200 Archaeological Sites in Sudanese Desert - Archaeology Magazine

BAYUDA DESERT, SUDAN—The Bayuda Desert in central Sudan is one of the least explored regions of the country. Over the past six years, however, a team of Polish archaeologists has conducted a comprehensive investigation of the area and identified over 1,200 archaeological sites dating from the Paleolithic period through the Middle Ages.
