'Summer House' Reality TV Franchise Is Coming to Canada, Will Debut on Hayu in 2027
The 10-part series will follow the Bravo format and launch exclusively on Hayu in 2027, with production already underway.
On Thursday, July 9, 2026, NBCUniversal greenlit "Summer House Canada," the first international adaptation of the hit Bravo reality series, with production underway in Muskoka, Ontario, for a 2027 premiere on Hayu.
Vancouver-Based Lark Productions is producing the series, leveraging longstanding ties with Universal Global Television via a first-look distribution deal to develop a group of friends escaping city life for lakeside cottages.
The original Bravo franchise, now ten seasons in, recently earned its first Emmy nomination for best unstructured reality show on Wednesday, validating the format ahead of the Canadian expansion.
"We're thrilled to bring this adaptation to the market," NBCUniversal Managing Director Hendrik McDermott said, while Lark President Erin Haskett noted Muskoka offers the "perfect, iconic Canadian setting" to build franchise momentum.
This expansion follows Hayu's first original commission, "The Real Housewives of London," recently renewed for a second season, as NBCUniversal builds its exclusive international reality content portfolio.
