The Croatian island of Hvar is traditionally the venue for major marathon swimming competitions, and this time two Slovenian women competed at the European Championships.

Slovenian swimmers Špela Perše and Maša Arnež have completed this year's European Long Distance Swimming Championships on Hvar. Perše took 17th place in the 5 and 10 km in Stari Grad, while Arnež finished the 5 km race in 23rd place and withdrew from the 10 km. On Friday, they competed in the 3 km elimination event and came 20th and 22nd.
