Today, a theatre project at the Berliner Ensemble celebrates its premiere, which brings the shadows of Srebrenica to the stage: over 8,000 people were murdered in July 1995 – in the middle of a UN protection zone. More than two decades later, photographer Armin Smailovic and director Branko Šimić trace the stories of survivors, perpetrators and witnesses. An insistent composition about guilt, memory and the fragile order of Europe.
