Universal Drops Trailer for ‘Shrek 5′
On Tuesday, Universal Pictures released the first Shrek 5 trailer, offering fans a glimpse of the animated feature arriving June 30, 2027, marking the franchise's first installment in 17 years.
Original voice actors Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz return as Shrek, Donkey, and Princess Fiona, joined by new cast members Zendaya, Marcello Hernandez, and Skylar Gisondo voicing the couple's children.
The preview shows Shrek and Donkey traveling to the magical city of Further, Further Away, where Donkey is turned into a sheep and thrown into a jail cell alongside the family.
Gingy exclaims he is "caked up like a friggin' bakery" while the trailer teases Smash Mouth's "All Star," a song associated with the franchise since the 2001 original film.
Directors Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn lead the project, continuing the DreamWorks franchise legacy alongside successful spin-offs including 2022's Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
