- The case was registered at Juhu police station on August 14 over a nearly Rs 60 crore loan-cum-investment dispute involving Deepak Kothari's 2015 meeting with Rajesh Arya, who requested an initial loan of Rs 75 crore at 12 interest.
- Kothari transferred Rs 31.95 crore in April 2015 and Rs 28.54 crore later, totaling Rs 60.48 crore credited to the company's HDFC Bank accounts with Rs 3.19 lakh stamp duty.
- The Economic Offences Wing registered an FIR under IPC sections 403, 406 and 34, summoned the firm’s auditor, and advocate Prashant Patil denied the charges as baseless and malicious.
- Records show Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd faced insolvency proceedings in 2017 and a concealed Rs 1.28 crore insolvency case, with the civil dispute adjudicated by the National Company Law Tribunal on October 4, 2024.
