During her usual morning press conference, Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum this Wednesday urged the United States (US) to seize arms on the shared border, calling for reciprocity in efforts to curb the illegal flow of weapons into Mexican territory. Sheinbaum emphasized that the fight against arms trafficking must be a bilateral commitment, “it cannot be just one.”


The Mexican president reiterated that many of the weapons used by criminal groups in Mexico come from the United States.
