Severe storms already in forecast for late in week

Areas of thundershowers will start Tuesday and continue into Thursday. Eventually a strong cold front could drive a line of severe thunderstorms through Michigan late Thursday or early Friday. The Storm Prediction Center already has part of Michigan painted in their day-4 severe weather outlook.Here’s the important picture for this week’s thunderstorm potential.

This evening… An upper low is spinning over the Lower Mississippi Valley and still has its hands in our weather. Daytime heating has cooked up CAPE (storm fuel) which has sparked storms.
