School leaders confident of resolution before teachers and support staff strike

The union says the action is being taken over lack of communication with staff, staff well-being and unpaid extra roles.

Teaching assistants at a school in East Molesey are going on strike.

GMB union members employed as Teaching Assistants at The Orchard Primary have voted for the action. They say the school has implemented a restructure which would cull over a third of TA support hours. We’re told union representatives are now seeking to meet school management before giving notice of strike dates. We’ve contacted the school for comment.
