Triple H Breaks Silence After Sami Zayn Becomes the New Undisputed WWE Champion at Night of Champions
Zayn pinned Cody Rhodes to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship and earn a SummerSlam 2026 main event spot.
On Saturday at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Canadian wrestler Sami Zayn defeated defending champion Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat match to win the Undisputed WWE Championship for the first time in his career.
Defending champion Rhodes faced vulnerability in the Triple Threat format, where the champion need not be pinned or submitted to lose the title, as both announce tables were smashed during the physical clash.
After Gunther delivered chops that Zayn fought off with a Helluva Kick, Rhodes attempted a second Cross Rhodes but Zayn escaped and caught the champion with a quick roll-up for the victory.
WWE celebrated the win posting, "A lot of folks said I would NEVER win the WWE Championship You proved them ALL wrong," while the victory places a target on Zayn's back for challengers.
King of the Ring winner Oba Femi can challenge Zayn at SummerSlam, potentially leveraging his size advantage against an opponent considered easier than Roman Reigns.
