The rearmament, prepared according to the new Brussels euphemism, starts off badly. In the name of democracy and freedoms things happen that question those desires. It is better not to hide your head under the wing and admit that militarisation and democracy have never been good travelling companions. Europe suffers a harassment of its democratic regimes, but to mimic with the attackers should not be the alternative.
