'Earned him a dig' - Brentford transfer being criticised, player was 'pushed out'

Summary
Ajax’s decision to let Jordan Henderson leave for Brentford this summer is one that’s still not sitting right at the club. That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, via Voetbal 4 U, who report that Ajax director of football Alex Kroes is still not popular for the decision. Henderson joined Brentford on a free transfer in one of the more surprising moves of the window. Few had predicted that the 35-year-old would return to the Premier League for a second spell after leaving in 2023. He bounced back from his disappointing spell in Saudi Arabia and become a regular with Ajax. That was despite a somewhat difficult start to his life with the Dutch giants. Instead, he and Ajax elected to cut short their relationship. The club were particularly keen to move Henderson on to get his wages off of the books as part of a summer cost-cutting exercise.
