Rotterdam admits that some 80,000 workers from other European countries live in the city

The City of Rotterdam (Netherlands) has no control over the number of European migrant workers living in poor conditions in the city. Since the opening of European borders to the new member states of Eastern Europe — a process that began in 2004 — the port city estimates that there may be about 80,000 people in this situation.
