Road salt contamination of Muskoka well water has been a concern for upwards of 40 years - Ground Water Canada

Summary by Ground Water Canada
Emsdale, Ont. – The contamination of groundwater from road salt has long been a concern of the Muskoka Watershed Council. The Muskoka area has been plagued with impairment of salty wells for upwards of 40 years. A resident who purchased a house in the area in the 1980s had a well drilled shortly afterwards but soon found her water to be salty. She understood the problem when the milk she poured into her coffee curdled. Almaguin News report
