Rich Archbold: First ladies of U.S. and Long Beach in library spotlight

One was known as “The Boss.”  Another was “Lemonade Lucy.” One was called “Plastic Pat.” They each, along with 39 other women, also had another common name: “first lady.” They were the wives of presidents of the United States, an eclectic group of women ranging from those who didn’t like the national spotlight to those who relished having a say in running the government.
