MONTREAL — As surprising as it may seem, Quebecers are today the least sovereign of all Canadians. A Léger poll on provincial sovereignty, conducted for La Presse canadienne on the margins of Alberta's apparent sovereignist ambitions, tells us that it is in Quebec that the proportion of citizens claiming to be "against" their province's sovereignty is the highest, at 59%.
