PTA treasurer arrested for stealing thousands, police say
The former treasurer for a Parent School Alliance in Scotch Plains has been charged in the theft of $29,000 from the parent-run volunteer organization, the Union County Police Department said Friday. Kathy O’Neil, of Clark, was the treasurer during the 2024-25 school year and had sole access to the account, authorities said. She was charged with theft by unlawful taking and credit card fraud.
