Poilievre Says Canada Will Never Be the '28th State' of the European Union
Pierre Poilievre said Canada will “never be the 28th state of the European Union” at a rally in Brantford, Ontario.
Poilievre opposed bringing European taxes, laws, and what he called “reckless European-style immigration” to Canada.
Prime Minister Mark Carney supports closer ties with Europe, including expanded opportunities for young people and an integrated financial-services market.
Carney said the proposed partnership will be debated and voted on in the House of Commons.
