The Turkmen Alevi Bektashi Foundation distributed aşure (a traditional Turkish dessert) in the capital city due to the month of Muharram. Foundation President Özdemir stated that the Alevi-Sunni divide no longer exists, that the problems regarding cemevis (Alevi places of worship) have been overcome, and expressed gratitude to Devlet Bahçeli.
