Police identify driver killed in Newburgh crash as Searsmont man

Police on Friday released the name of a man killed when his car crashed into a tractor trailer on Wednesday morning in the town of Newburgh. Peter Williams, 66, of Searsmont, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and his dog died on the way to a veterinarian, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office.
