Police identify deceased 8-year-old boy, mother shot in Utah
- On Friday, police responded to a shooting at 1244 North Willowbrook Lane in Saratoga Springs, Utah, where 8-year-old Eli Painter was found dead and his mother, 44-year-old Jessica Lyman, was critically wounded.
- The incident occurred before 10:15 a.m., when officers arrived at the home after being called by Lyman's 17-year-old daughter, who found her mother and brother unconscious.
- Also present in the house were a 15-year-old boy and the 17-year-old girl who made the initial call to police.
- Eli Painter was declared "deceased without chance of revival" at the scene, while Jessica Lyman was treated by paramedics and flown to a hospital, where she remained in critical condition as of Sunday.
