Poland's Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that it was permanently recalling its ambassador to Hungary over a "hostile act" - granting asylum to a former Polish deputy minister facing corruption charges.
Poland withdrew its ambassador from Hungary, after Hungarian Conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orban's government granted a political asylum to an former Polish Deputy Minister of Justice accused of corruption, announced the Polish Foreign Minister, according to AFP.
Warsaw had no other choice. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' decision only brings the matter to a close. Sebastian Kęciek has not served as ambassador to Hungary since December, when he was recalled to the country for consultations.
