- The Phase 1 required an investment of Rs 11,200 crore and will handle 12 million MPPA, scalable to 70 MPPA upon full development. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation granted the Aerodrome License for Public Use.
- Once flight operations commence, NIA and IGI Airport will function as an integrated aviation system, easing congestion and expanding passenger capacity while positioning Delhi-NCR among leading global aviation hubs.
