The Hungarian Parliament on Wednesday approved the proposal to amend the laws related to the suspension of Hungarian citizenship with 134 votes in favor and 48 against, with six abstentions. Péter Polt was elected as the new President of the Constitutional Court (AC), Ákos Kozma became the new member of the AC, and Bálint Gábor Nagy was elected Prosecutor General by the parliament.
No sooner had he become a constitutional judge than the former chief prosecutor was elected as the new president of the Constitutional Court for a 12-year term by the Fidesz-majority Parliament on Wednesday. The last missing constitutional judge was also elected: at the proposal of Fidesz, Ákos Kozma, the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, was added to the body, which now operates with the legally required 15 members.
