On Sunday evening, at approximately 5:40 p.m., New York State Police troopers from the Haverstraw barracks responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a train in the area of Tompkins Cove, within the Town of Stony Point. According to investigators, a 21-year-old man was on the railroad tracks when a CSX freight train passed through and struck him.
