Palavas-Les-Flots: a 13-year-old boy missing at sea, major means of rescue deployed

A 13-year-old was taken away by the swell this Sunday in Palavas-les-Flots (Herault). Important means were deployed, the research was suspended in the evening and are due to resume this Monday.

A strong swell, generating waves up to 3 meters high, was announced this Sunday on the Hérault coast, which had therefore passed in yellow vigilance.

The tragedy occurred as the family bathed on the left bank beach at Palavas. Around 17:00, this Sunday, April 20, 2025, a 13-year-old and his family were taken away by a big wave. The parents were able to easily return to the shore but the young man was not found.
