In the days after two U.S. citizens were shot dead in Minneapolis earlier this year, the then head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Kristi Noem, said the agency would “acquire and deploy quickly” body cameras for its agents across the country.
According to Congressman Sylvia Garcia, the Mexican killed by an ICE officer in Houston was not at all the target of the operation.
