Oregon lawmakers demand resignations over U.S. security breach on unsecured app
Members of Oregon's congressional delegation are calling for resignations after senior members of the U.S. intelligence services were caught discussing war plans over an unsecured messaging app, which inadvertently included a journalist.
The US has proposed to imprison officials for discussing classified data in messengers
Democrat Ritchie Torres is going to submit to the lower house of Congress a bill according to which officials will be punished with up to five years in prison for disseminating classified information via messengers. Officials are also expected to be punished with a fine of up to $250,000. The draft document is still under development.
