Denver Data Center Developer Reveals Openai, Oracle Partnership
The $15 billion Lighthouse project will create 4,000 construction jobs and 1,000 permanent positions while supporting AI innovation with 4.5 gigawatts of energy capacity, officials said.
- On Wednesday, OpenAI, Oracle and Vantage Data Centers announced the Port Washington, Wisconsin campus named Lighthouse, to be operated by Oracle and OpenAI as part of Stargate.
- Stargate, a program of up to $500 billion, aims to drive U.S. artificial intelligence leadership and links Lighthouse to multigigawatt capacity plans including SoftBank Group.
- Vantage plans four data center buildings with over a gigawatt of AI capacity, using Lake Michigan water and a closed-loop cooling system, while creating jobs and seeking zero-emission energy.
- Dozens of city meetings hashed out annexations, zoning and a $458 million Tax Incremental Financing package as hundreds of residents voiced concerns and Microsoft canceled a nearby project earlier this month.
- Construction will begin soon, likely mid-November, Vantage Data Centers says the Wisconsin campus is scheduled for completion in 2028, with a $1.4 billion, roughly-100-mile power line planned to transmit energy.
