One lane of new Jefferson Road bridge in South Charleston now open to traffic

The $46.8 million project to streamline traffic flow along Jefferson Road between MacCorkle Avenue and U.S. 119 in South Charleston, West Virginia has come a step closer to completion, following the opening, on May 21, 2025, of the new bridge passing over Kanawha Turnpike and CSX railroad tracks to northbound traffic. A new access road to the eastbound lanes of Kanawha Turnpike is also now open from the northbound approach road to the bridge.
