NIO Continues to Expand in Europe Despite Tariff Challenges
- Nio plans to expand its presence in Europe by launching its vehicles in seven additional countries—namely Austria, Romania, and five others including Luxembourg and Poland—across 2025 and 2026.
- This growth builds on Nio’s initial European debut in Norway in 2021, followed by the introduction of its vehicles in several other Northern European countries the subsequent year.
- Nio will partner with local distributors Hedin Mobility Group in Belgium and Luxembourg, and AutoWallis in Austria, Hungary, Czechia, Poland, and Romania to support market entry.
- Nio President Qin Lihong stated that Firefly, the company’s mass-market brand, aims to launch in roughly 20 international markets by the close of 2025, with models featuring right-hand drive expected to be available by October.
- Nio aims to grow monthly deliveries to 25,000 by late 2025 and will combine direct sales with distributor partnerships despite a 21% tariff on Chinese-made EVs.
