Switzerland's SBB plans new night train to Copenhagen and Malmö
The Swiss government has allocated 47 million francs (€50m) for a new night train which will travel three times a week between Malmö and Basel, via Copenhagen, from April next year. But it's still not absolutely certain it will go ahead.
The Federal Office of Transport supports the introduction and operation of a night train to Denmark. Tax money is also available for adjustments to SBB rolling stock.


Night trains have been experiencing a renaissance in Europe for a while. The Swiss Federal Railways are preparing a new connection to Scandinavia. The train should also travel through Baden-Württemberg.
In order to promote rail journeys abroad, 47 million Swiss francs are to flow to a new night train connection to Malmö.
