TAMIL NADU, INDIA, AUG 10 – The camp includes seven contracted players and three emerging talents preparing with seven to eight games in subcontinental conditions before the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
- On August 10, the New Zealand women’s cricket team began a two-week camp at the Chennai Super Kings Academy, overseen by White Ferns head coach Ben Sawyer and assistant coach Craig McMillan in spin-friendly conditions.
- With no domestic cricket and fewer than two months to the World Cup, the White Ferns started their first specialised overseas camp in Chennai, overseeing ten players, including seven contracted and three of interest.
- McMillan said the group is focusing on batting effectively versus spin, with three one-day games in Chennai, one-dayers in Dubai, and warm-ups in Bengaluru, supported by High Performance Sport New Zealand and Dr. Kirsty Fairbairn.
- After the Chennai camp, the group will fly to Dubai for one-dayers against England and warm-ups in Bengaluru, gaining valuable subcontinental match practice.
- Facing Australia in Indore on October 1, the White Ferns aim to win both the T20 and 50-over titles, a rare achievement in this cycle.
