The factory in the Essonne was closed on the order of the prefecture on 30 May, until further order. A check showed "the poor storage conditions of the foodstuffs", "sweetened by the dumps of rodents".
The Bièvres site, in Essonne, the heart of the production of the house founded in 1932, was the subject of a prefectural closure order, after the discovery of serious hygiene deficiencies.
A health check carried out at the Poilâne factory led to the cessation of production. The bakery-pastry site is therefore subject to a prefectural closure order because of "serious non-compliance with regard to hygiene and food safety".
Following a sanitary check, production stopped at this bakery-pastry site, located in Bièvres, Essonne, which delivers restaurants and supermarkets.
According to the prefecture, "serious non-conformities with regard to hygiene and food safety" have been found.
