Union and SPD want to abolish heating law according to reports

The biggest conflict point of the Union and SPD with regard to climate and energy is the future of the heating law. In contrast, the climate money is already agreed: it comes at the earliest in 2027 and is to be financed from EU funds.

Environmental associations and the Greens criticise the apparent departure from the so-called heating law agreed by the Union and the SPD in its previous form.

Hardly any other project of the traffic light is as controversial as the so-called heating law. Now, according to media reports, a working group of Union and SPD has agreed to abolish the funding in its current form.

Negotiators of the working group "Transport and infrastructure, construction and housing" plan to abolish the controversial heating law. Green faction leader Dröge warns that with a departure from the law, black and red would adopt the climate goal of Germany for 2030.

The heating law is considered one of the most controversial laws of the traffic light. However, there are voices warning of the consequences of abolition.
