The Mercy Medical Center, in Aurora City, was recently stripped of the Level II trauma designation according to the Illinois Public Health Department. Something that would eliminate key services for the care of residents of the area. Aurora’s emergency medical services will begin to redirect patients to other hospitals because the Mercy Medical Center will no longer be a trained centre for trauma patients level 2.
