Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation Can’t Dismiss Cameraman’s Lawsuit Over Alleged Car Sex Incident
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, JUL 7 – Judge Gregory H. Woods ruled that Emilio Garcia presented enough evidence of discrimination and retaliation tied to his sexual orientation to move forward with the lawsuit.
- On July 2, 2024, a federal judge determined that Emilio Garcia’s harassment and retaliation claims against the rapper Megan Pete and her management company will proceed in court.
- Garcia, who worked as Megan's personal cameraman from 2018 to 2023, filed the suit in April 2024 after alleging a 2022 Ibiza SUV incident where Megan had sex with a woman beside him.
- The lawsuit alleges that Megan fostered a discriminatory and uncomfortable workplace environment due to Garcia's sexual orientation and responded to his complaints by cutting his pay and hours before terminating his employment in 2023.
- Judge Woods observed that the evidence suggests changes were made to key aspects of the plaintiff’s job as a response to his complaints regarding the Ibiza matter, a conclusion supported by testimony from fourteen depositions.
- The case will proceed against Megan and Roc Nation, with Garcia's attorney planning to amend the complaint, while Megan's team denies the claims and calls Garcia a "con artist.
