Népszava has accumulated significant debts to the printing and distribution company owned by a media holding company close to Fidesz.

“Mediaworks is unwilling to undertake further financing of Népszava,” they wrote in their statement. Although Népszava admitted that it had accumulated significant debts to Mediaworks, they said they were “trying to execute” the newspaper.

Mediaworks terminated the printing and distribution contract of Népszava after they reported that the newspaper had accumulated significant debts to the companies involved.
