Man charged with stalking after allegedly targeting Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey and his family
Inigo Rowland, 58, charged with stalking and flick knife possession after allegedly targeting Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey and family for several months, police said.
On Sunday, Inigo Rowland, 58, of Surbiton was charged after allegedly targeting Sir Ed Davey and his family, police say.
Across June to October, the alleged incidents occurred after Sir Ed Davey, Liberal Democrats leader, reportedly called police when the man turned up at his home and constituency office.
At Wimbledon Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, the suspect appeared and was remanded in custody, with a further appearance scheduled for Tuesday, the Met Police said.
A Liberal Democrat spokesperson said the MP's priority is family safety after police were called following visits to Sir Ed Davey's home and constituency office.
He was arrested on October 6 and the arrest was only made public on Sunday; Sir Ed Davey lives in southwest London with his wife Emily, their 17-year-old son John and his younger sister Ellie.
