Kuldeep Trade Could Tick Few Boxes for LSG
Pant returns to Delhi on a revised contract after two poor seasons at Lucknow, while Kuldeep Yadav heads to Super Giants in the swap.
On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India officially confirmed a blockbuster trade, sending wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant to Delhi Capitals for ₹15 crore and left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav to Lucknow Super Giants for ₹13.5 crore.
Pant returns to Delhi following two underwhelming seasons as captain of the Super Giants, where he managed only 312 runs in 2026 after being acquired for a record ₹27 crore.
Kuldeep departs the Capitals after a successful five-season tenure, having claimed 72 wickets in 65 matches for Delhi before joining the Lucknow-based franchise.
"Pant returns to the franchise where he spent nine seasons between 2016 and 2024, making 111 appearances—the most by any player for DC," the Board said, noting his prior captaincy of 43 matches.
This high-profile trade marks a major reshuffle ahead of the 2027 season, fundamentally altering leadership and bowling dynamics for both the Capitals and the Super Giants.
