A man was hit by a train in Lewiston on Thursday morning. The man was hit by a southbound train about 10:42 a.m. on the tracks near Whipple Street, according to the Lewiston Police Department. First responders extricated him from beneath a railroad car and brought him to Central Maine Medical Center, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries. The victim’s identity is not being made public at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
