- Following his wife's warning, George Pogatsia trailed the group toward Bowers Street, where an unknown man grabbed the teen by the hand and hoisted her onto his shoulder.
- On 911 tapes obtained by TMZ, Pogatsia said, 'That's when I demanded to the guy, I told him to put the girl down, demanded that he put her down', then chased the suspect after the two women said they didn't know him.
- By then, Jersey City police had arrived and found the teen safe while the fleeing man escaped, and George Pogatsia was hailed a hero, receiving a letter of appreciation from President Donald Trump.
- Known for playing on-screen villains, George Pogatsia said, 'I usually play a bad guy, you know? But it's a lot more rewarding to be a real life good guy', reflecting on the rescue.
