KLM ground staff want to strike again. The intention is to stop working for 8 hours next Wednesday. This was announced by the unions CNV and FNV. Initially, the ground staff wanted to strike on Saturday. KLM successfully went to court last week to stop this. The judge called a strike that day irresponsible due to the holiday rush and the aftermath of the NATO summit. The unions are now confident that the strike will be allowed to go ahead.
KLM's ground staff will still strike next Wednesday, CNV and FNV report. The strike will last eight hours, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. "We want KLM to come up with something concrete for the ground staff. We will not buy anything for vague promises," the union states. KLM wants to talk to the unions to prevent a ground staff strike before any summary proceedings are initiated, says a spokeswoman for the airline.
