The announcement of Jean-Marc Morandini's continued presence, after his final conviction for corruption of minors, plunged CNews into an unprecedented crisis. Presenter Sonia Mabrouk, the first to officially distance herself from this decision, is about to set sail.
The moderator of the "Morandini Live" on CNews was planning to refer the case to the European Court of Human Rights after the confirmation of his conviction in January to two years' suspended imprisonment.
The facilitator, who was finally convicted of corruption of minors but held in CNews despite this, announced on Friday on X that he renounced "any recourse" and asked him "to give him a second chance".
The host of CNews was kept on the air, despite his final conviction for corruption of minors.
"I want to say that I deeply regret the words and written exchanges that have been criticized and that have been able to hurt," said the 60-year-old host.
The presenter of CNews had so far considered bringing the matter before the European Court of Human Rights to challenge the sentence which he had received.
