JioHotstar introduces monthly subscription plans starting at Rs 79
- Jan. 28 will see JioHotstar implement a new pricing framework for new subscribers, adding monthly plans starting at INR79 for the Mobile tier across all subscription levels in India.
- Responding to rising big-screen usage, JioHotstar said the move addresses explosive growth in large-screen viewing 11 months since launch and supports mobile-first users and connected-TV viewers.
- The new price table reveals Super tier pricing at INR149 monthly, INR349 quarterly and INR1,099 annually, while Premium quarterly rose to INR699 and annual to INR2,199.
- Existing subscribers on auto-renewal will retain current pricing and benefits, while Hollywood content is bundled into Super and Premium tiers or offered as a paid add-on for Mobile subscribers.
- With more than 1 billion downloads, JioHotstar said the pricing revision aims to boost connected-TV adoption, support mobile-led discovery, and back long-term streaming investments for 450 million monthly active users.
